Review of the Tommy Burns Video

Faithful Through and Through

As a football DVD I thought that it could have incorporated more “action”. As a DVD of the life of Tommy Burns, I found it was very informative and funny, tinged with the sadness that would be expected given the reason the film was made in the first place.
Good contributions from former team mates Paul McStay, George McCluskey, Pat Bonner, big Pierre and probably the biggest contributor Peter “The Pointer” Grant.
Jim McIntyre adds some comments from the time they were at Reading. Walter and Ally share their thoughts on events, and both state that it was their proudest moment when the Burns family asked them to carry Tommy’s coffin into St Mary’s.

Wee Gordon and Gary Pendrey add a bit of humour to the film but it was evident how upset Gary was when recalling the run into the season and how he didn’t want to let Tommy down by not winning the title.

It must have been really hard on the Burns family recounting their memories, but I’m sure that they will be more than pleased with the final outcome. All in all, a good film recalling the life of a “True Celtic Legend”. Remember that by buying the DVD from a reputable dealer you will be contributing to the Tommy Burns Cancer Trust.
