Too Much to Ask?

Published on Sunday 31st October, 2010 by Celtic Trust

we are asking for is transparency and accountability - not too much to ask for, surely?

In April of this year, the Celtic Trust, and other organisations approached the SFA to outline our serious concerns about the way it goes about its business and have suggested a number of areas which need to be radically overhauled (for a summary of these proposals see Letter re referees and Celtic fans put proposal to Celtic and the SFA). In light of the events of the past couple of weeks and the revelations in the press today (Sunday 31/10/10) it would appear that these changes are now even more necessary. If any trust is to be placed in the integrity of the game in Scotland then doing nothing is not an option. We sought a meeting with former Chief Executive which did not take place due to his resignation and we sent a similar request the newly appointed Stewart Regan last week. The contents of our letter, which we will publish shortly, make it clear that what we are asking for is transparency and accountability - not too much to ask for, surely?
